., tl K K ' 6 s The 1977 football season was a tough one for the Bulldog team as they competed in their second year of 11- man football. The season got underway in August as 24 inexperienced young men under a new coach, Gary Krejci, began two-a-day workouts in preparation forthe upcoming year. Enthusiasm and desire were high from the beginning as the Bulldogs worked hard. Fundamentals and tech- niques were stressed as they became a disciplined team. The Bulldogs tried hard every game against bigger and more experienced teams. Injuries to several players midway through the season hurt the team's chances for winning their first game. Two close games were lost to Richland Springs C25-325 and Irion County C6-123 as the Bulldogs fought them down to the last whistle. The 1978 season will be better for the Miles Bulldog football team as everyone is coming back, and they will be more experienced and ready to go after their opponents on the gridiron. 53
