Try to rem em ber and if you remember then follow DEDICA TI ON We dedicate the 1977 yearbook to some very special people who made enduring impressions in our lives. They listened when we were in need of someone to talk to. They made us aware of the world that we faced: gave us their guiding hands so we couldn't go astrayg gave us shelter from the cold and food when we were hungry. With experienced voices, they taught us of sorrow, of love, and of hate. When we were frightened, they comforted us with gentle words and caresses and gave us the strength to bear life's tasks. All these things they gave in love, taught in love and these things we learned in love. These precious ever lingering moments will remain in our hearts forever. In sweet appreciation, we the Senior Class of 1977 would like to dedicate this annual to some very special people--our parents. Www 'f72A,ot5L.Zw1a'azl 7700.611 ww. seawef Ymv rms. The class not only used their vast knowledge and intelligence, but also the stars, astrological signs and the help of Jean Dixon to foresee your future. DARLENE BOOK will be known to all nations of the world as the greatest Cook of all. NANETTE BRUTON attends Hardin-Simmons University, and will start a Dial-A-Date Service. RHONDA CALCAVECCHIA will spend many days baking pepperoni pizzas and trying to figure out how to spell her last name. DIANE CMEREK makes our petite 6 foot running back, BILL DODSON, into a backwood's cotton farmer. After PENNEYE DICKSON gets married, she will tell her children all her stories of how she disrupted class and drove the teachers up the walls! After spending several years of Friday and Saturday nights at the Place , IANELLE HAVLAK and RITA SMITH finally got tired of merely going there. They now own the Place and are doing a very profitable business. ROBERTA HAVLAK will change her meek and mild ways and becomes the greatest lady wrestler that ever lived. We see GARY HAYES , ROGER MEACHAM , BARRY OFFIL and DOC TURK, living in an Open Road Trailer doing the Rodeo circuit. These 4 guys live for 3 things--fast horses, fast money, and fast women! BONNIE HELWIG will achieve fame and fortune by raising the first Aggie I-lerefords. You will be able to see DANNY I-IOLIK in the local department store sitting on a shelf, being his usual teddy bear self. MITCHELL JANSA becomes Ace Farmer. He will raise and even improve on a new type of crop-- Johnson Grass . CATHY KASBERG lives in Eola where she works toward the brewing of better tasting wine. Because MARK KVAPIL looks so much like Roy Clark, he becomes famous in the movies as his double, doing stunts and rescuing damsels in distress. SUSAN LACY becomes the only math teacher to have her students teach her math. We see NATALIA LOPEZ and NORMA MARTINEZ making the daily rounds of supermarkets trying to find the best bargains for their fami- lies. TIM NORD will be the only guy at college to have his own bucking barrell in his dorm room. RUTH PELZEL and JOAN SHILLER are the owners of a beer distributing company and the Bud Twins are the official tasters. STARLA RIDDLE will be up every Saturday night fixing breakfast for all her friends after the dances. DAVID SCHNIERS will finally reach his life long goal and ambition o weighing 300 pounds, but decided to go on a crash diet when asked to run track for the 2000 Olympics in Miles. We remind you that this prophecy has been kept in a tightly closed mayonnaise jar under a Funk 85 Wagners encyclopedia since the year 1959. Some of these prophecies may come true, but for the sake of humanity, we hope not! I y 26 1977 SE IDR CLASS WILL by the Seniors Darlene Book wills to BECKY KING her ferninity and self-control. Pennye Dickson wishes to leave her love of Government to KELLY WILLIAMS . Bill Dodson wills to JESSE WRIGHT his big tummy and kinky hair. To SHARON McWlLLIAMS , Ianelle Havlak leaves her quiet and orderly ways. Barry Ofill wishes to will his role of the Fonz to GAYLON SCHNIERS, who like Barry will never fit the role. David Schniers bequeaths his ability to over diet and act manly to LANCE LACY. Natalia Lopez and Roberta Havlak wish to leave their loudness to CAROLYN ELLISON who might know what to do with it. To RITA CASA- REZ , Norma Martinez leaves her love of money and SuAnn Lacy leaves her shyness to Rita. Gary Hayes wills his love of teachers, homework, and the 8:15 bell to RANDY REDMAN. loan Shiller leaves her giggles to NASH CANO. To HOPE IBARRA, Cathy Kasberg wills her height and ability to ask silly questions and Rita Smith leaves her ability to be counted absent when she is present. Mitchell lansa wills to CLAY HOLIK his ability to flirt with girls but never accomplish anything. Tim Nord wills his ability to be a Rexall Cowboy to STANLEY SCHNIERS and his coordination to DUANE SCHNIERS. To JANIE FREEMAN, Roger Meacham leaves his shyness, and his ability to stay away from the opposite sex. To JOSEPH BINDER, Mark Kvapil leaves his ability to never know what's going on, and Doc Turk leaves his ability to fall in love with himself. To LETICIA SALINAS, Rhonda Calcavecchia wills her ability and secret for short engagements. Diane Cmerek leaves to DARLENE HENRY her ability to diet and gain weight and Bonnie Helwig leaves her ability to be an Aggie and to be able to blush at dirty jokes. Nanette Bruton leaves her uncanny ability to melt people with her stare and her uncontrollable giggles to BONNIE KVAPIL. To ANNA LEE SHILLER, Starla Riddle leaves her ability to go out with the same guy at least two consecutive dances in a row. To RIKKI POPE, Danny Holik leaves his address in case she ever gets lonelyg and Ruth Pelzel leaves her love for the Cavaliers and her dancing feet in case Rikki wears out her own. The girls of the Senior Class of 1977 wish to leave to the Junior girls the ability to get engaged before gradua- tion. The boys of the Senior Class of 1977 wish to leave to the Junior boys 50 Ways to Stay Free. 27 JU 1012 CLASS J' ' , Am- . -1 - ---' 'r v v. T. Gault PQ ,, The Odds were against them from the very beginning, but the Miles Bulldogs tried their wings for the first year of 11-man football. They practiced hard each day starting in the heat of the summer. They were rewarded with a winless season. The Miles Bulldog players took each loss with a dignity and sense of gain that comes only with the kind of Bulldog pride that good coaching and loyal fans instill upon young athletes. Miles gained strength and expe- rience with each game. They will be back next year, older, wiser, and ready to WIN! ! ! E 3' I ...XM The Bulldogs faced a new schedule of opponents this year with the change to 11- man football. Miles played Loraine, Ros- coe, Sterling City, Garden City, Eden, Richland Springs, Santa Anna, Bronte, and lrion County. f fix 1976 B ULLDOGS T QS The offense used by the Bulldogs was primar- ily a Single-Wing and a Split-end formation with many variations. The Dogs worked with a 4-3 defense and a 5-3 defense but the defense changed depending on the Opponent for each game. The Seniors felt the best games were the last two games of the season, after they had learned the skills of 11-man football. One thing to remember---The Bulldogs were never beaten in the year of 1976. They were just outscored . . . The football team was made up of 25 mem bers. There were 9 Seniors, 6 Sophomores and 10 Freshmen. The Bulldogs feel that experience and talent will help the team to a winning season next year. We will not forget wh football season, 1976 f in .
