THE FUTURE HOMEMAKERS CLUB The Future Homemakers Club was orgamzed at the begm nlng of school wlth forty fxve members Offlcers elected were Presxdent Bobble Jewel Ford Vrce Presrdent Melbadean Green Secretary ff? Treasurer Margaret Colhns Song Leader Alvah Lee Cook Sergeant at Arms Opal Moles The club also selected motto colors flower and sponsor whlch are as follows Motto Strlve and Succeed Colors Green and Whlte Flower Whlte Carnatron Sponsor Mlss Edxth Hamrlton The Club gave the1r annual Chrlstmas party December 18 1940 Each glrl lnvxted a boy After everyone arnved games were played after whlch all gathered rn a c1rcle and everybody sang Chrlstmas Carols QAfter we had the tree refreshments were served A good t1me was reported by everyonej The Homemakmg club of M1ldred Hlgh School gave a radlo program February 11 It was made up of glrls IH the club There were several talks made by the glrls on The Improvement of our Homes Mlldred Bonner played a prano solo and a group of gxrls sang Home Sweet Home Each year three gxrls are selected to go to the area meetlng Th1s year the meetmg was held at Arhngton Jo Frances Hamll ton represented the freshman class Nell1e Renfro represented the Sophomore class Our presldent Bobby Jewell Ford went as our delegate Th1s year the glrls who represented the school at San Antonlo were jo Frances H8Hl1ltOH of the Freshman class Margaret Colhns of the Sophomore Melba Dean Green and Geraldxne Ward of the Jumor class The Home Ec g1rls gave thelr style show modeling the1r dresses at an 1m1tat1on tea party wlth Melba Dean and Geraldme as hostesses The program conslsted of songs by the classes and a solo by Sue Hargrave Loretta Jones read My Fxrst Dress a poem of her own composltlon f NW I 7 , l ' Reporter ....,.............,...................................... ......... .......
