On October 17-25 Milbank exchanged stu- dents with Winnipeg for one week. The four stu- dents stayed in private homes, visited the two schools. River East and Miles MacDonnald, and toured the metropolis of Winnipeg. The students enjoyed their stay and felt it was well worth the time lost in school. The exchange was sponsored by the Kiwanis Club, which hopes it will become an annual event. Milbank- Winnipeg Exchange Students Roland Geiger gives Darla Knaus the Canadian hex. Addys Boutin gives us a sample of her award winning eyes. Addys Isbel Boutin Delgado, Milbank High School's second American Field Service student, transferred to Milbank from Panama City, Panama. Addys has been active in 'A' chorus and is the secretary of the newly organized Pep Club. Among her other accomplish- ments she has been named 'the Senior girl with the prettiest Eyes.' Miss Boutin spends her time in school studying for American and English literature, American government, American his- tory, sociology, and chemistry. Addys enjoys watching football and basketball games, and she participates in many sports including volleyball, basketball, swimming, and fox and goose. With a little practice, Addys has even mastered the art of figure skating. Addys truly has made Milbank's halls of learning more pleasant with her pretty eyes and good sense of humor. Miss Minor offering Addys a little Foreign Aid. Addys made the following comments concerning her life in our community, I came to Milbank in August and began my year here as another American student. When I first came I could hardly understand the language and I hardly talked to somebody, but now everybody tells me to Shut up because I talk too much. After two or three weeks of the beginning of my school year I began to feel better in my new life. The football games were a new experience for me because I heard about it but I never watch anybody playing but I fin- ished understanding the game. Comparing my school in Panama, I can see a little bit of difference because I was attending to all girls' school and here I think that I like better with boys too. Another difference is that here we choose the subjects that we want to take and in my school in Panama all the girls have to take the same subjects and they are about 13 or 14 sub- jects each year.
