Class of’72 Dissects and Speaks Way Through Sophomore class officers are, left to right: Duane Hurley, vice-president: Terry Steinlicht, president: Tom O'Shaughnessy, treasurer; and Cindy Stengel, secre- tary. Sophomore Year Whether squeamingly cutting up a frog in biology, holding a seance in speech, swooning in typing class, or appreciating Pythagoras’ theory of right triangles, the sophomores let it be known that they were definitely a part of the MHS scene. But who wouldn’t have known it already after hearing them out-yell juniors and seniors at pep ral- lies—and between classes. Sophomores, outgrowing the humble position of green freshmen, soon learned the fine art of testing as they squeaked through semesters and then punched out preferences for lumber- jacking, nuclear physics, gardening, or some other exciting occupation. (And, speaking of “punching,” sophomores did that, too, as they gracefully served for the Junior-Senior Prom.)
