A new building, up to date books, and modern furnishings will not give an education to anyone. It is the teachers themselves that make the school what it is. During the four years that most of us have or will spend in Milbank High, we have come under the authority of many faculty members, young and old, experienced and fresh-from-college. While certainly we could not expect to like them all, most of us can truthfully say that we learned much from our teach- ers. A perfectionist might find fault with one teacher’s appearance, another’s discipline and a third’s method of teaching but few. if any, of us are in a position to criticize. If you have not already done so, realize now that teachers, like everyone else, are human beings with faults and failings. We, the Senior Class of 1955, want to take this opportunity to extend our best wishes to all the mem- bers of the MHS faculty. We know that at times we have stretched your patience to the breaking point but underneath, we do appreciate all that you have done for us; and next year, when we are gone, we hope that you will think back to our four years here and say, “They weren’t really so bad.” 7
