HOMECOMING CORONATION Seated: Joan Gill, Larry VanRay. Standing: Marilyn Wiliams, Janice Nord, Gerry McFarland, Donna Boerger, Margaret Nef, Jim Farrell, Glenn Robel, Larry Lewis, Larry Johns, Ed. Flanery. Homecoming Homecoming festivities got under way October 14 with the coronation of Larry Van Ray and Joan Gill as king and queen. They were attended by Margaret Nef, Donna Boerger, Glenn Robel, and Jim Farrell, seniors; Geraldine McFarland and Larry Lewis, juniors; Janice Nord and Larry Johns, sophomores; Marilyn Williams and Edward Flanery, freshmen. A pep fest and bonfire following the coronation served to arouse the spirits of students of Milbank High. The following day began with a parade down Main Street. Many floats from the city schools were entered and also a few from the country. First prize in the high school division was taken by the M Club, second by the F. H. A., and third by the Driver's Education class. The seventh grade won top honors in the grade school division, with the east third grade taking second, and the west second grade, third. That night the Bulldogs met the Sisseton Redmen on the gridiron. The loss did not affect the spirits of the fans, for a successful Homecoming dance was held in the high school gym immediately after the game. This brought to an end Homecoming, 1954. 26
