The first year as a “freshie” is completed. As soon as the freshmen entered MHS they quickly took their places in an active school life. As the year progressed, typical of the freshman, he was found underfoot engaged in all activities. James Randall and Mary Burges soon became active on the debate squad. Jim also placed in declam in the fall of 1953. Many of the girls were active in the FHA. Also new, was their class advisor, Miss Sally Fick, who helped members of the class to adjust to the many changes in secondary education. However, now they are ready to assume the title of “sophomore”. But the class does not stop here; on it pushes forth to the covetous position of a senior.
