Valedictorian The Valedictorian for the Class of 1956, Vienna Rains, has maintained a very high scholastic rating throughout her entire four years of high school. During high school she participated in many activ- ities such as band, language club, annual staff, and Journalism. 'UV' Vienna is planning to attend Eastern Michigan College at Ypsilanti, where she plans to prepare to be a high school teacher Salutatorians Y This year, for the first time, there are two salutatorians. These students who have maintained an excellent scholastic rating during high school are Nannette Horton and Elaine Dacey. Nannette after being graduated plans to attend the University of Michigan School of Music. There she will major in piano to prepare herself to become a private piano teacher. Nannette has been active in journalism, forensics, band, and received the honor of the D.A.R. award. Elaine plans to attend college and complete a course in specialized education. She has been active in chorus, annual staff, forensics, and journalism. There are eleven other members of the Class of 1956 who achieved honor rating scholastically. They are: Kay Shupp, John Johnson, Don Hahn, Rosalie Winegarden, Marilyn Schmalholz, Virginia Wanty, Faye Nichols, Jo Ann Smith, Ralph Ernst, Robert Devee, and Peggy Pickett.
