As time wanders on, our experi- ences fade farther and farther into the past. We get older, we mature, and before we realize it, we’ve lost our childhood. Many of us will change, some of us won’t. These times are lost and tucked away in the corners of our minds. Times that were . . . and never will be again ... because we will never pass this way again.” AND NEVER WILL BE AGAIN... REVUE A TIME TO LOVE, TO LAUGH, The night of October 13, 1978, was a night of many memories— some happy, some sad, as Milan High School held its fifteenth annual homecoming. The evening may have started a little gloomy because of the weather; but, as the parade of class floats, queen candidates, and the MHS band began, friends gath- ered together and the evening became more than a delight ... it became a memory. Halftime was suspenseful until the final decisions of the judges declared the class of '83 as winners with their float “Drown the Cou- gars” and Becky White as the 1978 Homecoming Queen. Even though the South Decauter Cougars won the game over the Indians (34-18), there was still enough enthusiasm in the specta- tors to bring a tremendous crowd to the dance hosted by Mark Sebas- tian and Tony Galuzo from WKRQ. Coach Kemmerer said that one of the most significant factors of the season was that there were no inju- ries. He also stated that the entire team had an excellent attitude and when asked to sum up his team in one word he said that they were determined. Highlights for this year’s team were the two captains, Craig Cutter and Brad Tabler. Craig was selected as all-conference punter and second-team halfback. Brad was chosen for the all-district team as a first-team running back. Another side of football was brought out this year—the spiritual side. A prayer was said before and after each game. This proved to be very worthwhile and beneficial. TOP LEFT: Rick Gress takes a break to clean up????? TOP RIGHT: Brad Tabler returns to the game after a brief word with the coach. This was the first time in Milan's history that the girls have gone to the Regional, Coach Negangard states that the girls’ big- gest problem was learning to work together; but they did learn as was evident in the sectional game against East Central. The Indians were also co-cham- pions in the Conference. Mary Stegemiller, Ronda Fledderman and Becky White were named to the all- conference team. It turned out to be one great season for these girls with records of 15-5 for Varsity and for Reserve 6-8. TOP: Ronda Fledderman—in position to spike! Tonya 28. 33. 83 Zornes, Mark Zornes, Todd 8. 46, 53 127 SAYING GOODBYE... A yearbook is an object of the past. It’s not meant to bring unpleasant memories. I hope that I’ve succeeded in making this year- book the kind of yearbook that you can look back on and feel good about. Milan wouldn't have had a year- book this year without many people working together to get the job done.” I would like to thank Mrs. Waehaus for her advice and super guidance, and Mr. Baurley for his “creative” mind. I’d also like to thank my staff for helping me out when times got rough. A special thanks goes to Mr. Gardner for being cooperative and understand- ing, and to Blanken Studios who were really great to us and provided all the great pictures. That about covers it. Oh! One more thing; thank you Milan for the good times I’ve had and the things I’ve learned. See you again some- time! Ronda Lee Fledderman Editor % i ■ ' ■ •%
