Members of the Milaca High School Band are truly year 'round musicians. Their work and practice goes on through the summer vacation as well as during school. This year our band said farewe11 to Mr. Tuovi Salo, who had served as director for the past seven years. Miss Mary Jean Raitor filled the vacancy and continued to keep up the band's reputation as one of the best in the state. BAND BOARD: Left to right--R. Olson, P. Dahlstrom, M. Johnson, D. A.n important part of the band's work is to contribute pep and entertainment at our basket- ball and football games as well as adding zip to our pepfests. The band also pre- sents many concerts during the year as well as being a snappy 3' 4' marching unit. Many cf. small ensembles have risen up amongst the ' ' di, members. These groups are often awarded high ratings for their fine performances. Milaca High School fi' may consider itself for- tunate to have such a top-notch senior band and may well be proud of it. 4 V ' I CORNET TRIO: Left to right--R. Gossen, M. The tables looked especially ele- gant with all the lovely flowers on them. 1 V .K A shimmering silver star overhead and shades of blue and gray carried through the Dreamland theme which was chosen by the Juniors. The traditional Grand March was led by Roger Olson, vice president, which of- ficially started the dance. 'B After the grand march the orchestra of Frank Koterba provided music for dancing, and the punch bowl flowed freely. The night drew to a close, but in our mem- ories, the enchanting Dreamland will never be forgotten.
