We still have memories of the Van Kuelen twins, Tom Dahl, Sherman Johnson, Bob Fortnum, Joyce Borg, Everett Redman, Garret Wilkins 4 Mahlon Moe, Donna French, Lyle Johnson, Delores Buckho, and Lloyd Helmen wan- ' 5 daring along our halls. - I Q I, Our choice of class officers'has proven to be of good taste, because some I .' were re-elected during the later years. As gresldent, Kenneth Noreng vice QI ' president, Reid Alterg secretary-treasurer, orothy Anderson: As we were 1 'Green Freshmen', nothing extraordinary happened but the passing of Slam Books I ji to and fro. And so we passed into the portals of Senior High. I, Our second year brought more excitement as Dorothy Hill and Mickey Buckho QI Q' 'were chosen from our class as cheerleaders. Anita Luohsinger, Joyce Nordstrom Q, e, Joan Cravens, and Ruth Osterberg were chosen as drum majorettes. Our class 5' jf officers for the second year were: president, Dorothy Andersong vice president 1' - Kenny Noren: secretary-treasurer, M ckey Buckho. lf For the second consecutive year, our class ln G.A.A. won the championship lj . basketball game. Those who participated were Anita Luchslnger, Grace Larson, I if Betty Marudas, Sue Wlgstrom, and Joyce Nordstrom. Snow king and queen contest- f ants for the Snow Carnival were Kenny Noren and Opal Rosvold. 5 if And so to our Junior year. Nell Molln was elected to pound the gavel, and I Ken Noren assisted him as the vice president. Dorothy Anderson took care of J the minutes, and also handled the cash. Mlckey Buckho moved to Little Falls, V so Georgia Zwicker took her place as cheerleader. Deane Jameson was the out- I if standing student at that time because he won the 10th district Wcmen's Club Essay Contest. He went with twenty other boys and girls to Itasca Park for ' i a week. lg A Junior-Senior roller skating party at Murray Beach caused many pillows QI 17 to apoear, and was followed by the largest occasion of the year, our Junior- . SBnhonrProm. The theme, The Stork Club, was both new and different, and If naturally thought the best by our class. I 'Love Your Neighbor' was presented as our class play with Nell Molln and Ruth Berg in the leading parts. Delores Anderson was our student manager. Additions to our class during the Junior year were: Elinor and Eloise Thompson, George Watson, Evelyn Carlson, and Dale Mudgett. Senior year addi- tions were: David Burk, Eileen Koch, and a war veteran Jlm Larson. We started our Senior year with enthuslam, introducing a homecoming for the first time ln our school. Betty Jane Anderson was chosen queen, Ruth Berg and Doris Johnson as attendants. Another new project for Mllaca was the yearbook. This was the flrst one started, consequently much time and effort was put forth. Kenneth Noren and Ruth Osterberg were the captains of the Hall Patrol. Kenneth Noren carried off honors as the Football captain and was unanimously elected to the district team. Kenneth Peterson, captalned' the basketball team.to a sub-district championship. In the early part of the fall, a roller-skating party was held at Fish Lake. Jake Schuver and Nell Molln were home for a furlough at that time. They had both Joined the Army at the close of their Junior year. Betty Jane Anderson was chosen to represent Mllaca as the Fire Queen at theaglnter Carnvial at St. gaul. m et and Macbeth, two hakespereen plays, were attended by the Senior Engllsh class, and were found very interesting by the students. For the Senior class play, we presented 'Lost Horizon' with John Bystrom and Joyce Nordstrom taking the leading parts. Isabelle Kessler assisted Mlss Grier and Miss Burrell ln her role as student manager. With the attendance of the Prom and our graduation exercises, we completed our four years of high school. . I'-i
