O ' NEILL ' S CLASSROOM OR EVEN HIS GREAT IMITATION OF A MARINE CORPS DRILL INSTRUCTOR. IT IS, HOWEVER, THE SOUNDS THAT AT LEAST ONE MIFFLIN SENIOR WILL BE HEARING ALL TOO SOON. STANLEY CARR HAS SIGNED ON THE DOTTED LINE TO BECOME A U.S. MARINE. AFTER GRADUATION, STAN WILL BE TRAVELLING TO PARRIS ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA FOR HIS BASIC TRAINING. THE MAIN REASON STAN IS GOING INTO THE SERVICE IS TO RECEIVE TECHNICAL TRAINING IN RADIO COMMUNICATIONS. STAN IS LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEW LIFE AND EXPERIENCES WHICH THE MARINES IS SURE TO OFFER. SO, WHILE MOST OF HIS CLASS WILL BE SPENDING THE SUMMER LOUNGING AROUND, LOOKING FOR A JOB, OR GET- TING READY FOR COLLEGE, STANLEY WILL BE IN BASIC TRAINING TO BECOME A UNITED STATES MARINE. SHE ATTENDED MIFFLIN JUNIORANDTHEN CAMETO MIFFLIN SENIOR DURING THE 1979-80 YEAR. IN JUNIOR HIGH, KELLIE PLAYED VOLLEYBALL, SOFTBALL, BASKETBALL, AND RAN TRACK. AT MIFFLIN SENIOR, SHE PLAYS BASKETBALL AND RUNS TRACK. IN BASKETBALL, KELLIE HAS SCORED OVER 1,000 POINTS IN HER CAREER. IN TRACK SHE RUNS THE 100 AND 200 METER DASH. WHEN QUESTIONED ABOUT HER FUTURE PLANS, KELLIE SAID THAT SHE HAS BEEN CONTACTED BY MANY COLLEGES INCLUDING: OHIO STATE, MICHIGAN, MISSOURI, AND INDIANA. SHE HAS NOT YET DECIDED WHERE SHE WILL GO. WHATEVER HER CHOICE MAY BE, SHE PLANS TO MAJOR IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION AND PLAY BASKETBALL AND RUN TRACK. KELLIE WILL MISS MIFFLIN SHE SAYS BECAUSE: MIFFLIN IS A NICE SCHOOL WITH A LOT OF GOOD TEACHERS AND STUDENTS. I WOULDN ' T GO TO ANY OTHER SCHOOL EVEN IF I HAD THE CHANCE.
