O ' NEILL ' S CLASSROOM OR EVEN HIS GREAT IMITATION OF A MARINE CORPS DRILL INSTRUCTOR. IT IS, HOWEVER, THE SOUNDS THAT AT LEAST ONE MIFFLIN SENIOR WILL BE HEARING ALL TOO SOON. STANLEY CARR HAS SIGNED ON THE DOTTED LINE TO BECOME A U.S. MARINE. AFTER GRADUATION, STAN WILL BE TRAVELLING TO PARRIS ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA FOR HIS BASIC TRAINING. THE MAIN REASON STAN IS GOING INTO THE SERVICE IS TO RECEIVE TECHNICAL TRAINING IN RADIO COMMUNICATIONS. STAN IS LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEW LIFE AND EXPERIENCES WHICH THE MARINES IS SURE TO OFFER. SO, WHILE MOST OF HIS CLASS WILL BE SPENDING THE SUMMER LOUNGING AROUND, LOOKING FOR A JOB, OR GET- TING READY FOR COLLEGE, STANLEY WILL BE IN BASIC TRAINING TO BECOME A UNITED STATES MARINE.
