Graduation Signals End to Seniors in Mershon Auditorium the graduating class of 1981 held its final group activity, Commencement. 1. Having maintained a perfect 4.0 grade average, Quentin Walls, the class valedictorian accepts con- gratulations from Dr. Luckey, awarding the diplomas. 2. Salutatorian Vincent Ciamacco receives his plaque from vice prin- cipal Rotonda while principals Kat- terhenrich, Tanner, and Hayes signal their approval. 3. In their final duty as class officers, sergeant of arms Rick Baker, treasurer Sherri Price, secretary Colleen Lynch, vice presi- dent Kelley Lomax, and president Rick Bailey are presented to the au- dience. 4. The class of 1981 graduates as the first desegregated class after court ordered desegrega- tion. 5. Honor cords are awarded to members of National Honor Society. 6. The procession is viewed by proud family and friends. 7. Each senior receives his own moment of recognition.

Seniors Celebrate Achievement Reserving the prom exclusively for seniors, the class of 1981 deviated from the traditional junior-senior prom. The increased intimacy allowed for the seniors to enjoy one last social event together before graduation. 1. Even a broken wrist can ' t in- terfere with dancing. 2. Many couples feel alone on the crowded dance floor. 3. Tom Hoban serves Diane Jones a cup of punch. 4. Prom night is a night for couples. 5. Wilma Wallace and her date smile their ap- proval of the evening. 6. Brad Quails openly displays his enthusiasm. 7. Mary McCullough and Robert Dur- rett share a quiet moment. 8. Many memories of a night to remember are stored away.
