She slowly opened her eyes and auTomaTically looked aT The window. Sun-nice day-my hair won'T Tall down. Three yquarTers awake, but sTill a liTTle drowsy, she saT up in bed and glanced aT The huge mass oT pink neT, pearls and ribbons, ThaT had been hang- ing on The closeT door Tor The pasT Two weeks, liusT To geT The wrinkles ouT, oT coursel. Now, compleTely awake she realized ThaT in exacTly seven hours she would be going To The TirsT OT Three parTies, and Then To ThaT once in a liTe Time aTTair. She jumped ouT oT bed and ran To The Calendar, iusT To make sure ThaT This was really The day. Two hours laTer, in The beauTy parlor, she Tried To de- cide in which sTyle To have her hair seT: Grecian curls, Psyche knoT or ponyTail. She had The manicurisT in a mad rage Trying To Tind a nail polish To maTch The swaTch she had cuT Trom her gown. JusT combine Cherries ln The Snow, PainT The Town Red, a pinch oT Fire And Ice, and ThaT's iT, A liTTle while laTer, seaTed complacenTly under The dryer, she began To Think oT whim. IT began To geT uncomTorTably warm under The machine, and Then The beauTician Turned iT on. Six monThs ago, she had signed her liTe away by puTTing in a bid Tor The Senior Prom. From ThaT day on she had schemed, chased, even oTTered him a iob work- ing Tor her TaTher, anyThing To be able To be wiTh him aT The Prom, These ThoughTs senT chills up her spine and she had To move The dryer up To 'll-lOT. l.aTer, aTTer she had goTTen home, she Thanked The de- livery boy and nervously opened The whiTe box . . . Gar- deniasll Two OT Them!! Oh well, noT whaT she had meanT when she subTly menTioned ThaT whiTe wenT perTecTly wiTh her gown, buT The Tlowers were lovely anyway. Soon she sfood beTore The long mirror and smiled. My dear, you look simply divine. The huge mass oT pink neT, pearls and ribbons had now Taken The shape oT a glowing girl, l-ler curls hung soTTly, gliTTering Trom biTs oT sparkle dusT. l-Ter skin shone and smelled Tresh and sweeT.
