The New York CiTy bus sTril4e cerTainly messed up our schedule. ThaT year we all wenT To The WinTer l:esTival and enioyed The TirsT Junior Prom in Mio- woods hisTory. Across The hall Trom The library The NaTalie Chancy music lounge was being builT. Nine- QJ 0 en 905 '53 .La . EW ' 1 Teen hundred TiTTy-Tour will also be remembered as The beginning of our daily morning singing of America and saluTing To The Tlag. And Then we became Seniors. When said wiTh proper reverence. iT iusT sounds wonderful! We pinned on our Senior buTTons and boughTgour Sen- ior haTs. We never goT so much presTige for 85c. Our Time schedule was changed and we Tound our- selves sharing The halls wiTh a loT oT lower Termers. We Took college boards and Tilled ouT college or job applicaTions, we wenT To The Senior dance, we celebraTed Senior day, we worked on Epilog and The Senior Show. Somehow, we managed To gei' everyThing done almosT before The deadline. Then, aTTer monThs oT waiTing, we Took off Tor The STaTler HoTel and our Senior Prom. Well, ThaT abouT does iT. We have iusT lighTIy reminisced Through our enTire High School career. Why, lisTen, The orchesTra is playing The final sTrains oT The Recessional. GraduaTion is over! And we. SepTember Il, I95Ol ThaT day seems To be a TavoriTe Tor our imaginaTions To run away with. JusT whaT would happen once Those seemingly wel- come and Triendly doors closed behind us? Would The Teachers be kindly, moTherly, benevolenT indi- viduals, or would They resemble lvlarTians wifh ThaT Third big blood shoT eye used only Tor reading TesT papers? Ah well! WiTh an almosT unbiased and clear mind, we seT abouT looking Tor our rooms. 1'-XTTer I5 minuTes oT uTTer conTusion and Three Trips around The building, we arrived. SelecTing a seaT in The lasT row, we Tried To Dig whaT ThaT Kool Teacher was saying. WhaT a landslide! WhaTever did she mean by program cards, delaney cards, pink cards? All oT a sudden a TrighTening noise reached our poor overworked ears. Are we being aTTacked? No. GeT down Trom The walls children. lT's only Dr. Ross exTending his greeTings. Well, we Tloundered Through ThaT Term and Tinally earned The TiTles oT Civilized Freshiesln Much To our surprise, we came Through The enTire episode unscaThed. Eleanor RoosevelT won The FDR. award and came To Midwood ThaT year. Our Third Term was an imporTanT one. The ban on exTra-curricular acTiviTies was liTTed. ThaT meanT The reTurn of our sporTs and clubs. To celebraTe we all ioined The BoosTers. We even indulged in a pep rally, compleTe wiTh band and cheerlead- ersl As a group oT happy, unsuspecTirig children, we rushed To enioy our TirsT meal in The caTeTeria. If you see Things moving beTore your eyes, don'T go To an occulisT. Relax! You're alrighT. lT's iusT The Tlying saucer season. Everyone else is seeing Them so why noT be in sTyle?
