Radar reached fhe moon, ief planes made fhe Aflanfic fo Pacific flighf in 4V2 hours, fhe U.N. ifhen called fhe UNOl came fo New York, and in general fhe SS curriculum was becoming very complicafed. On Safurday affer- noons and befween classes, we read Forever Amber. On Safurday nighf, we saw The Losf Weekend and discussed if befween classes. We swooned over Van Johnson and gave Frank Sinafra our FDR memorial award. Sixfh Avenue was dubbed Avenue of fha Americas: even oufside of Midwood, fhey were frying fo confuse us innocenfs-buf wifh our Baedekers under our arms, we plodded on. We liked fhe enferfainmenf in Midwood.
