sang 'the Alma Mater. lt was a big night, but the best was yet 'to come .... This is where it all ends--here, on the huge. 'trim Brooklyn College field, at the close of June. Ends-end begins. 'too .... lt all led to this, four years of high school -of dreaming. planning, studying. sharing, and having a wonderful time. lt brought us here. where standing tall and erect in our blue or white-we listen to the speeches -congratulating, advising, hoping-to the presentations and awards. We know the valedictorian isspealring for all of us when he addresses 'the overtlowing stands: we, straining 'to glimpse Dad and Mom ishe must be sniffling by nowi. Then, suddenly. 'the bend breaks into a steady march: i't's all over and we crazily wish for one pain- raclned moment that it were iust beginning, that time could be pushed back for four years. But that doesn't last very long. After all, this is the beginning. We're going on now. fortified with a wealth of knowledge, experience. and memories-ready for the future. . v GOOD LUCK, '49ers . . .
