Texas To the students of 1947: In the long ago, the Australians confined themselves to a narrow strip along the coastline restricted by the mountains that lay before them. When they dared to climb the mountains and explore the regions beyond, instead of the desolation that they expected, they found rich and fertile lands. Thus, an empire was born. Students, together, we dare to climb the mountains and find the fertile lands that are on the other side. We dere to build a greater institution.
