JUNIORS Once three bears lived in the woods. The three bears lived in a house in the woods. There was Father Bear and there was Mother Bear and there was Little Wee Bear. Father Bear has a great big voice. Mother Bear had a big voice, too. And Little Bear had a little wee voice. The three bears had three bowls. Father Bear had a great big bowl. Mother Bear had a big bowl, too. Little Wee Bear had a little wee bowl. The three bears had soup in the three bowls. The three bears had three chairs, and Father Bear hada great big chair. Mother Bear hada big chair too. Little Wee Bear had alittle wee chair. The three bears had three beds. Father Bear had a great big bed. Mother Bear had a big bed, too. Little Wee Bear had a little wee bed. One morning Father Bear could not eat his soup. Also Mother Bear could not eat her soup. And Little Wee Bear could not eat his soup. The three bears could not eat as the soup was too hot. So the three bears went for a walk. Father Bear went for a walk. Mother Bear went for a walk.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY The National Honor Society was started to stimulate scholarship and to recognize character, service, leadership and scholarship in the students ofthe high school. When the society met at the first of the year, Duane Overstreet was elected President, Dona Stephens, Vice President and Virginia McLean, Secretary and Treasurer. When one is elected into the National Honor Society, it is not only for his careerin the secondary school, butit is for life, and that he,'as a student and a graduate of high school going out into life will be held to the pledge as a member of the National Honor Society. No matter where he goes, no matter what he becomes...to endeavor always to try to raise secondary education to higher and higher levels. Acceptance into the society is an honor to be sought by all students, and should rank with athletic, music and achievements. At the end of year 1949 eight students were elected into the society as follows: Seniors, Alice Daley, Faye Chaffin, Janice Maher, Daren Terpening, Juniors, Doris Million,Marvene Shidler,Sophomoresg Gail Kearney, and Gene Lamb.
