SENIOR HISTORY In September of 1944 seyenteen Range wrld colts were stampeded unto the corral of M H S Thev were fllled wrth awe at the mary els that met therr eyes They were lust becomlng accustomed to the routrne of Hugh School when thelr con fxdence rn the older members of the herd were shaken by an ordeal known a Inrtratlon The Colts were branded After survrvlng thus torture they were accepted as a part of the band Band leaders chosen were Brll Daley Harold OConnor V1c Nottmgham and Carl Wilson Mrss Dorothy Ann Outze was chosen Wrangler The treasury was llned by sex eral successful sales In Aprrl the tradrtronal Colt party was gryen for the Old Timers September 1945 came and as yearlmgs the leaders chosen were Tommy ones V1c Nottmgham Bob Nagel and Iy an Mrllron More accustomed to the ways of the corral they proceded to further pad therr treasury for next year s brg ey ent by hot dog sales at basketball and football games At Chrlstmas trme a turkey was raffled and rn the Sprln a show was sponsored As Two year olds they were feelrng thenr oats and burstmg wth plans for the lunror Prom Agarn a hot dog sale and show and the rafflmg of a Woolen blanket fllled thelr treasury to oy erflowmg However 1t was soon depleted by the Prom vyhlch took place on the Pacxflc Paradrse of Hawau The settmg was made realxstlc by troprcal flowers and flsh sea shells an actne yolcano and real Palm leayes The leaders for thxs ex entful year were Blll Daley Ix an Mrllron Kay Grayc and Tommy ones In apprecratlon for the Prom the four year olds klndly allowed them to traxl along on Sneak day and catch up rn trme for a grand tced at Story The Fall of 1947 found only twelye of the orlgrnal band back IH therr stalls Resoly ed to make up rn qualrty for thelr lack of quantlty they started the fmal chapter of therr M H S Memorrs Leaders chosen were Kay Grayes VIC Nottrnvham Reta Wlck and Iy an Mrllron Mrss Drlle and Mr Bays contxnued as Wranglers After the 1947 crop of colts were branded successfully they settled down rn thc Harness wlth a drne for funds tor thelr annual and grft to the school The colts enter tamed them wrth an enjoyable party nd the Three year Olds junlors mth a gorgeous Prom on Aprxl 30th Wlth Sneak day camc thcrr last assoclatlon vyrth the rest of the herd The tlnal Roundup came all too soon and they were sent out to fznd thelr placcs m other pasturcs of the Wrde Wxde World They fcel that thelr small band has contrlbuted to cyery phase of school llfc and they knovy that the memorrcs of all the happy days rn M H S vyrll lm cr vrth them alvsavs .
