Calendar of Events September School starts with its trials and tribulations and our new principal, Oral Davis. -Kay Graves and Ginger Connors get the lucky votes for cheerleaders. All hush-hush. Class officers elected. Snake dance broke up in Edgerton. -Hard hitting Oilers romp over Upton. -T.N.T.'s begin their year by electing officers and sponsors. -Big Wheatland eleven lose to Midwest on home field. -Revenge after four long years! Frosh curfew. -Who got initiated? It wasn't the Freshman. Juniors took over, as usual. Kangaroo Courtg Grifiin got so excited he jumped up and down fwith the help of electric bootsj. -Local fans watched Casper B go under. October -We travel to Buffalo on the bus and everyone comes home satisfied but Hooley. Wonder why? We won! -What does Coach teach his biology class? Terrific explosion in lab rocks the school. -Seniors present A Stolen Life. Anybody lose a twin ? -Sundance furnished material for Oilers drubbing 33-0. -Why teachers get grey-exams. - Oilers and Pat conquer Newcastle. -Another victory, from Lusk. 3 -Seniors entertain the Wee Tots ' at a party. -Pranksters flatten Edgerton. -We roast wienies to stay out of trouble. November 1-Our tears flowed like wine in our first grid- iron defeat on the home field in two years. Douglas did it by one point. 11-We bolstered our morale by defeating Gillette in the annual Armistice Day game. 13-Once again we're Powder River District Champs-or so the team said in their radio talk over KDFN. 15-Was it exams or the Company Party that floored Mardelle and Jeanie? 17-Our own Jack Hahn was elected to the All- State team. Moore and Million won honor- able mention. 18-Seniors prepare for holidays by rafiling turkeys. 21,22-We thrive on turkey. Two days out of school. December 6-We played Riverton and won. 10-The lucky football squad dines with the T.N.T.'s. 20-Physics party. Pass the Pepto-Bismal. Then we relaxed and enjoyed vacation. t 30-The Gypsies took over at the Job's Daughters Formal. 31-Seniors again set pace by having a New Year's dance to ring in the new. January 6--The old grind begins again. 7-We continue our winning streak by downing Buffalo there. 11-Our lucky week. Newcastle bows before the mighty five from Midwest. - 14-Nottingham shines in the Casper game, but we lose. 16-Once again we tell the world how great we are over KDFN and prove it by making Wheatland suffer. 17, 18-Long faces and torn up paper. Semester tests!! 20-Betty Parker elected cheerleader to take Dink's place.

21 23 24 31 -The Camels have come and gone trailing los- ing score behind them. -Seniors are Punch Happy -Ohio Tests. -Sheridan gives us a scare, but the best team WOII. -Hypnotist Valleon fixed us up so we took another game from the Bison. February 1 -Our reserves show their worth by winning from Kaycee, and the Oilers trim Glenrock. 4-Moon is just right for a jaunt to Douglas, we hear-of course, we won, didn't we Pat? 7-The Broncs deflate our ego by tipping in the winning basket. 8-We were robbed! The famous Stopher from 10- 13 Gillette dropped the winning talley from mid-court. the best annual yet. , 14, 15-Are they in or are they out? Three victories over Sundance, Newcastle, and Gil- lette proved them in. Rest easy, gals. 17-Happy Holly makes us all squirm with his rendition of movie goers. 18-The end is near. We are measured for caps 20 and gowns. , 21-Dick goes to Laramie to get back his class ring, and the team loses. Wheatland makes us work for a two point win. 25-Girls test the male's powers of observation. Verdict: not so good. 26-Second team journeys to Glenrock. Tough for us. Senior boys go beserk and show brains. Dorsey and Jack win first and second place respectively in essay contest. 28-Kilroy was here! Smoe held his own! March 6, 7, 8-District Tournament at Gillette. Need we say more? Everyone looks pretty for group pictures for- Calendar of Events 14-Big celebration! Seniors entertained with a Saint Patrick's Day theme by the Frosh. A good time was had by all. 19-Hastings Choir-everybody swoons. 25-Essay contest winners read in Assembly. 26-Bob Woods-Adventures with Chalk. 29- Senior Barn Dance repeats the success of the year before. A lot of good entertainment was given. April 1-All Fools' Day and the high school takes it right in their stride. 2-Seniors give up! Stop struggling with the play. 4, 7-A hunting we will go. Easter vacation is here. 8-Back to school. I 11-Dog with a human mind entertains the school. 17-Midwest High School students honored by Salute to Youth program over KVOC. 22-Seniors ditch the Juniors. Great day! Sneak day!! 25-Juniors row the Seniors out to Hawaii for a wonderful time at the Junior-Senior Prom. 26-Sleepy but ready, willing, and able, the chorus journeys to Buffalo to appear in the Music Festival. More fun. May 1-May day and spring fever. 3-Freshman give a wow of a dance! 7-Sophomores give an excellent performance of The Arrival of Billy. 24-Baccalaureate. Seniors realize significance of leaving school. 27-Whoopee ! ! ! ! Commencement. 5
