They are divided into three homerooms. Their sponsors are Mrs. Looper, Mrs. Peters and Mr. Gregory. There were no class officers but each homeroom had its officers. Mrs. Looper's homeroom elected Charles Glenn as president, Kathy Anderson, vice-president, and Mary Jo Brown, secretary-treasurer. The officers of Mrs. Peter's homeroom are Raymond Lohman, president: Barbara Moore, vice-president, and Delores Porter, secretary-treasurer. Mr. Gregory's homeroom elected the following officers: Damon Wingfield, president, Mabel Anne Turner, vice-president, and Patty Scott, secretary-treasurer. Activities participated in by the Juniors were Pep Club, Football, Basketball, Baseball, Track, Red Cross, Annual Staff, and Glee Club. The Juniors show that they are interested in their studies as well as their activities since a large percentage of the pupils who made the State Honor Society were Juniors. Those who made the honor roll are: Mary Jo Brown, Patty Scott, Corbin Sarchet, Elaine Krebs, Joan Attebery, Josie Wilkes, Anne Palmer, Damon Wingfield, Barbara Moore, Leland Caldwell, and George Ritchie. March. 1, 1949 TO THE MEMBERS OF THE NINTH GRADE: Now that you are ready to enter Senior High School, I hope that you have, through your contacts and associations, been stimu- lated to form plans and set for yourself, goals worthy of attainment. In the future, as in the past, you will meet with obstacles in the form of doubt, fear and misgiving. Remember though, that regardless of the num- ber of failures you meet, the important thing is not to fail the last time you try. In the hope that your past year in the Midwest City Junior High School has contrib- uted not only to your knowledge, but of even greater importance, it has assisted you in the formation of those desirable traits of character that will enable you to live, not only efficiently but happily, this portion of the Bomber Annual is dedicated. . , . . ,F-YY, '34 x as , 2 'I H xx B' V H l - ' 'ii . . gr- 1 : - H . Astorbilt, who goes in for big business....-..GERALD CHEEK Mama Had a Hunch was a captivating comedy in three acts. The Speech Class enjoyed preparing and presenting this delightful play. The story of the play is as follows: I Junior High School has an active Junior Red Cross Chapter. General officers were elected in September and Home Room representa- tives named with Mrs. Mildred Webb as sponsor. We sent twenty-five Christmas Gift Boxes to children overseas and each room was 10016 in contributions to Red Cross membership. Total sent in was S17.60. Our holiday quota of holiday tray favors, napkins and tray covers, are mailed each month to Red Cross headquarters. We are trying to do a worthwhile job. The Kincaids are four, Mama, Papa, and their two daughters, Eunice and Rosalie. Just the average American family, say you? Well, it might have been-if it weren't for Mama. For this estimable lady is given to acting on hunches, and these cost Papa money, for the hunches have a way of back firing. Eunice and Frank marry against Papa's wishes. Rosalie spies on everyone and tells! Amaryllis, the maid is just so-o tired that everyone yawns in sympathy with her. All in all, the play is amusing and entertaining. s Emmy- s 2 a 4 'si ' 1 ' . 55,5 geft Follieground: Gladys West. eated ehind the Table, left to right: Bernadine Cassady, B rb W bb N V all 321: Sewing Machines, left to right: Derl Archer, LucilleaZa2lfT1dik? MILDRED WEBB IN THE Art Department of Midwest City Junior High school the boys and girls experience the joy of creating beautiful and useful things. We Work in many fields, so that each student may find the medium in which he works with the greatest success. The seventh grade classes have basic lettering and poster work: and crafts of different kinds. The eighth grade groups- make posters, do work in charcoal and pastel painting and also work with various crafts. The ninth grade classes include advanced poster, pastel, finger painting, clay, felt and wood craft. We try to learn good citizenship by answering all Red Cross calls for hospital tray and party favors and by help- ing in every way we can in school and community project. We usually schedule two exhibits a year so that our parents and friends may see our work. This year we had another Colonial Art Exhibit of re- productions of famous paintings. w . 4. ,, ' 3 U i ir ' ,nn Left to right Kenneth Morford, Lamar Gre- gory Junmle Welsh, John Ed Foshee, and fIonn Mnllinan. The Bomberettes went into full swing early in September with 46 members and pledges. Several girls tried out for cheer leaders. Those chosen were Mabel Ann Turner, Gladys Genzer and Reba Jo Butcher. Substitutes were Anne Palmer and Betty Hill. Later in the season Dion Myers took his place in front of the cheer- ing section. During football season the Bomberettes marched with the band at the half and .performed many antics before the spectators. They cheered the Bomber team through many football and basketball victories.
