Under the guidance of Professor of Music Mike Duffy, a new group, the Psallousi Singers, was organized. Psallousi, a word referring to singing to the accompaniment of stringed instruments is the name the singers have appropriately chosen. Psal- lousi Singers are alto, Becky Capehart, Paul Crosby, lead guitar and bass, Jon Durre, Baritone, Wylma Gardener, second soprano, Dale Hall, bass, Cathy Harding, alto, Doug Hinkle, tenor also playing guitar, Marilyn Martin, first soprano, and Sue Wight, pianist. Representing the school by traveling every other week-end, singing, giving testimonies, and teaching Sunday School classes and youth groups, the Psal- lousi Singers soon became widely popular among the old as well as the young and have performed in states as far north and west as Colorado and New Mexico.
