A Little Magic Comes True The .lunior Class sponsored the 1979 high sehool beauty pageant with the theme, Disr'o Magieu. Clubs and Classes nominated 4-1 girls who eompeted for the title Most Beautiful. Sherri Bearden, the Spanish Club representative was named the Most Beautiful . She is a junior student involved in a number of sehool activi- ties. Merry I-lutto, Julie Kruse, Jackie Ross, and Lynna Gibson were the runners-up. Carol Stanley was selected the Most Congenialm 1. The Speech club, under the direc- tion of Miss Guthrie, presented their annual play in December. The play was a comedy, Our Hearts Were Young and Gay . The play concerns two young women embarking on their first trip to Europe alone. The character portrayed by Laura Dollo- hite hopes to pursue an acting career and study under a great French actor portrayed by Mark Scott. Melissa Blackwell's character hopes to be a dancer. However, the girls meet two young men, on the voyage over. Todd Ous- ley and Teddy Anderson are two dap- per young gentlemen who capture the girls' hearts. 1. Teddy gets a little stage make-up. 3. Laura's parents seem a bit worried about their daugh- ter's upcoming voyage alone in the world. 2.
