CAM 'MA , i We, the Senior Class of '53, Midway High School, being about to depart from this school,do make this our last will and testament. We hereby declare all previous wills and testaments made by this class null and void. l To the Junior Class,who will follow in our footsteps,we will our dignity and self- respect. 2 To the noisy Sophomores,we leave our ability to conduct a class meeting in a noisy manner. 3 To the green Freshman Class, we give our ability to cut up. h To the playful Eighth Grade we leave our unsophisticated ways. S To the shy Seventh Grade we will our hopes that they will have as many happy times in high school as we have had. 6 To the faculty we leave a little peace and quiet after four years of having our way. 7 We, the members of the Senior Class of l9S3 being of sound mind and body,do hereby bequeath,convey,and will our last worldy possessions to the following,to wit: l. Ouida Bush wills her freckles to Philip Smith and her place helping Doris in the office goes to Mildred Lacefield. 2. Betty Jo Duncan wills her quietness to James McDaniel and her ability to get a- long with the teachers to David Stevens, 3. Myra Wash wills her shortness to Mary Lou Ford and her place on the cheerlead- ing squad to Garnet Atwood. h. Paul Duffy leaves his place on the basketball team to Wally Montgomery and his black hair to Oscar Ellis. 5. Donald Baker wills his ability to be tardy for school to Larry Duffy and his curly hair to Billy Logan. 6. Alma Rigney wills her long hair to Helen Woolums and her love for air-mail letters to Betty Jo Purvis. 7. Ada Wright wills her sweet disposition and happy smile to all of the Sophomore girls. , 8. James Woodrum leaves his ability to skip school to Bobby Biddle and his ability to go with all the girls goes to Benny Baker. 9. Annie Webster wills her mischievous joking to Lois Shumate and her independent spirit to Patsy Sullivan. 10. Herbert Carpenter wills his purple pants and bright shirts to any boy who can wear them and everything else he wants for himself. ll. Retta Richardson wills her ability to get married to Dorothy Riddell and her charming personality to Betty Portwood. 12. Margaret Summers wills her flirty ways and her love for the Versailles boys to Doris Biddle. 13. William Cloyd leaves his desk in the Senior room to the first Junior who gets it,and his ability to talk like Donald Duck to Bobby Dotson. It will help worry your classmates, Bobby. lb. Betty Devers wills her bright smile to Dora Duncan and her dramatic talent to any Sophomore girl who wants the lead in the Senior Play, 15. I, Georgetta McLean do hereby' will m ability to have one boy friend at a time to Betty Florian but she had better not have any designs on the Rice in my life. 16. Finally,as our last official act we do hereby name and appoint our Class Sponsor,Mrs. Nell Voigt,as the sole executrix of this,our last will and testament, Georgetta McLean William Cloyd
