The ploce is the Midway Elementary School or Severance (that no longer exists). Thirteen bright-foced five-year-olds, sleeping mots in hand, bound off of the bus for morning kindergarten. They greet Mrs. Carter brightly. When noon rolled around, these little rug rots colled it o doy ond nine more plagued Mrs. Carter for the afternoon class. Over the course of the years, 25 different kids hove come ond gone. (Not including the twelve that hove remained here 13 years.) One of which hos gone but come bock is Tereso Berry. Stormin' Normon Richards hos been popping in ond out ever since third grade ond left the class with memories of his unforgettable dancing techniques. Or how about Mary Sue Hulse that hod o lough like o machine gun? Out of the eighteen seniors in the class, twelve hove stuck it our ot Midway for thirteen years. They ore Jerre, Sheri, Dovid, Lori. Charlotte, Karen. Corhy, Jim, Rusty, Chuck, Mory, ond Mory Jo. The six seniors that haven't been here thirteen years come or various times. Melanie Hundertmork come into the class in first grade ond Tommy joined the ranks in fifth grade. Gory Grider blessed us with his presence when we were freshmen, ond Tereso re- joined the doss our sophomore year. Lost year, two new classmates were initiated into the class of '82. Jerre Baker hod trouble finding her way to the finish on cross country courses. Melonie Boird. the 1981 Homecoming Queen, hod o terrible rime getting home on that muddy night. Cothy Cluck, while running backwards in P.E. in sixth grade, fell and broke both of her arms. Tereso Berry fainted while we were practicing our marching in first grade. Rubik's cube king, Dovid Becker, was known for changing the words in Jr. Scholastics during Jr. High to moke outrageously funny stories. Heart-throb Jim Hailing has been the victim of oil of the crushes in our class since kindergarten. Louis Appleseed Johnson is known fot peddling his apple cider to Midway buyers. The Pump” Grider always hos o supply of Vitalis Hoirsproy in his locker. Toiler queen, Lori Winchester, ployed tricks on innocent sifters by sabotaging the toilets with Soron wrap and Vaseline. Karen Soylond, on addicted note writer, got caught in sixth grode ond hod the note pinned up on the bulletin board. Head Cheerleader, Charlotte Elder, did the splits in o seventh grode tryout ond her 13
