My name is Mike the Middie, and I'm going to iourney with you, Senior Class of l957, back over your Voyage Through School. lt has been a most exciting adventure, ever since the day you stepped aboard that launch, called first-grade, and headed for the bigger ship-high school. There has been stormy weather, of course, but there have been times when you've had very smooth sailing, too. These are the times to remember! After eight years of grade school you boarded that boat you had longed for, but then came an order from Operations that a new and better ship must be built. Remember the anticipation and anxiety you felt? Remember when you would go past the yards on Capel Road to watch the construction of that new liner- Midview High School? Then, that September l4,l955, when you stepped aboard that good ship, Midview, and began exploring your home on the high seas, and meeting many new people who have become your fellow crewmen and close friends. By now you all have had manv happy times. For instance, we will wager you will remember the dedication of your new school, those football and bas- ketball games land especially those two trophies that were the first to be put in the trophy casel the dances, concerts, shop classes, club meetings-for a long time. The big day, however, was May 23, when you received the documents pro- claiming your voyage to be a success. Now, shall we shove off? Anchors Away! 4 P Dedlcatlon We the Seniors of Mldvlew Hugh School ded: cate thus volume of the LOG of 19561957 to our Sensor class advnsors We wnll remember each of you for your guld ance to our class as a whole and to our class as mdlvrduals requurung personal asslstance To you Mrs Robson for all the help you gave to those headlng toward commerclal careers for your never fallung Interest and encouragement we thank you' To you Mrs Smath for your efforts IU making us better prepared for later lafe as homemalcers for helpnng to buula better character rn each and every one of us we thank you' To you Mr Sandrew for the many hours you have unselhshly devoted IH gumdung our class to be a more cooperatuve group we thank you' Only a munornty of the thungs you have done to help and guude us are mentnoned but as we leave Mldvlevv each of us will remember you Individually for the thmgs large and small whuch you have done for us and wnth us So IH apprecuatuon for all the help and guidance you have so faithfully contributed to us we dedncate thus annual to you Mrs Robson Mrs Smnth and Mr Sandrew The Class of l957 Mrs Robson Mrs Smth Mr Sand e -4' it 11 if if H-:X As supervisors over The Mldvlevv School Dvslrlcf our School Boord hos done o flrsl role rob We owe mony Thonlcs lo Them not only os undlvuduols bul especially os o group for oll their efforts ond lnleresf In our vorled ocfuvllles We recognsze The loc? The club membership includes six ham operators. l Officers elected this year were Jim Malone, President, Bob Roberts, Vice-president, Tom Brown, Treasurer, Larry l' 3 Pinkley, Secretary. Upon Jim Malone's resignation Bob Roberts assumed the presidency. 4, The members' first and foremost project was to teach and to increase the code speed of those at the group who l' were trying for their novice tickets The club members likewise handled the public-address lines at all home toot- A ball games. ln February a Parents' Night wa ur- ing which the group displayed and explained the n ot radio equipment, A sending and receiving statio also rigged tor that evening. The strongest aim ot the radio shack men is to constru an amateur radio station at the school and to obtain th own call. l-l Camera Club This year the Camera Club held a campaign, selling Christmas cords for the sole purpose of raising funds for developing equipment. This campaign resulted in the purchasing of two coloring kits which aided the members immensely. On a field trip the members of the Camera Club traveled to Svat's Studio in Elyria to learn the proper way of tinting and coloring photos. Enrollment this year num- bered tifteen members, but they hope to increase in the following year. The students met Friday nights after school to practice enlarging and developing photos in the dark FOOIT1. The future plans are to learn Fused-lighting and to visit other studios for training. L. This was the second year for the Midview Student Council. Under the supervision of Mr. R. Fullmer, and through the leadership of Al Junior, president, the Council made rapid strides towards the development of a first-rate Council for the student-body of Midview High. Every member ot the group was active on some project or committee throughout the year. The meetings were not held on a strictly formal basis, and this contributed greatly to the amount of work accomplished, The officers for the i957-l958 school term were elected in the Spring. They are Joan Eppley, President, Gene Brown, Vice-president, Lynette Ross, Secretary, and Jeff Price, Treasurer. s, STANDING: Mr, Fullmer, Bill Shea, Lynnefte Ross, Judy Bassett, Elaine Amenhauser, Barbara Bruhn, Jett Price, Cole Miller, Dick Orr, Gene Brown, Dave Denison, John Miller, SEATED: Marilyn Mills, Lucy Tildes, Denise Pondy, Al Junior, Bob Krosky, Gerry Hardin, John Burgess. 27 4 'l ' Ternes. 9 Assembling this yearbook was one of the most pleasant tasks of the school year.
