ft- Senior Class Prophecy 'W ' fmlaiax i I M It ls now the twilight of their High School career, but with eyes bright and minds clear--and no regrets--the noble Seniors look to the future with hun- gry ambitions and great expectations. Looking ahead to, let's say, the year 1978 without even the aid of a crys- tal ball, I can see them well established, each in his own choice of endeavor. There is Milford Potter under the blazing limelights making the teenagers faint as he yodels his rendition of the latest hit song. By then, Milford ought to have made western singin' as popular as nRock n' roll' is now. Galen Lewis is also in Hollywood, and he has succeeded very well. He has now replaced Hr. Rook Hudson and is on his way to squeeze out Tab Hunter. Galen is suffering un- der an unhappy delusion though---he thinks he can make 'Fraule1n' popular again. He is trying now for the fifth time in as many years. Getting away from the movie colony, let's go farther East to the wheat country of the great Midwest. Kansas 1sn't Kansas anymore. It is now known as the 'Finke Farm.' Bob owns it fro border to border, and is dickering for Texas but Kent and Victor won't sell. It's the only place big enough to hide all the Craig whiskey stills. It's just great how well all my old classmates are doing. Judy Glasscook is over in Washington, D. C. as America's first woman president. Some people say she talked her way into office, but nobody who really knows her believes lt. A sad thing appears as I gaze into the future of Violet Roberts and William Atkinson. They were chosen, because of their superior intellect and courage, to make the first trip to the moon. But by 1972 there were so many Russian Sput- nike floating around that they collided unavoidably with one of them. Molly Clelland is the world's greatest scientist. She has discovered a way to cure people of cancer, television, the co mon cold, and how to make a husband love his mother-ln-law. Her most important invention is still in the experimen- tal stage, however. She is trying to discover how to make a cup of coffee her husband can drink.

Elenore Atkinson and Larry Horning have gone into business together because they always got along so well. Larry designs the latest fashions and Elenore models them. This way Larry gets to tell the women of the world what to wear and Elenore makes all the men glad to buy it. Galen Preston was running away from the internal revenue officers one day when he tripped over a peculiar piece of rock. He took :lt to a chemist and dis- covered lt was pure uranium. He filed a claim on a whole vein of the stuff and made enough money to pay off all his back taxes. He even had enough left to build e fortified castle on Hitt Mountain where he sits all day long, afraid to leave lest he run into the clutches of the hundreds of women who have matrimon- ial designs on him. Bertha Jacks, I see, has become Amer1ca's most famous artist. She is rich and can draw anything, including handsome fortune hunters. Bertha resists all suitor with commendable valor in spite of their most urgent pleas, and travels periodically to Hitt Mountain to paint scenery--or so she says. If you should turn on your new super atomic television set some Autumn Sun- day in 1972 you might get to see the Ea:-th's Football team in a tough game with Mars, Venus, or some other top team in the Milkyway conference. And most prob- ably you would cheer yourself hoarse as you watched Earth score time after time with the splendid running abilities of Jack Taylor. Some people say he's scared because he runs the other direction sometimes, but one thing is certain---give him the ball and nobody can catch him. Hell, that's the way it goes. The old gang have all really made a name for themselves. It kinda makes a man feel good to pick up a newspaper and see their names, then turn around and say to his eight grsndkids, Heck, I knew all those people when they were my neighbors here in Hidvale. And to think that I was the one voted 'Most likely to succeed' of all 1 Hand writ this day by Gary Garner
