SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1954 54 students from Mxdvale Roswell and Goshen gathered at Mldvale Hxgh School xn R00m 208 We all hopped m our shiny h0t l'0d and began our Journey as Freshmen wxth Mr Heskxtt as our drxver After our take oFf we cho e blue and whxte as our class colors and a red Carnatxon as our class flower Then we chose our motto Our Goal IS the Peak of Success Let Us Chmb Class OHICOFS were elected as follows Presxdent Becky Robb Vxce Pres1dent-Jlm Meese Secretary Bonnxe Hobart Treasurer Martha Sours and Class Repre entatxve-Don Patterson Martha Sours and Gaye Tollotx were chosen as major ettes and Bonme Hobart relgned as Football Queens attendant Becky Robb was selected by the student body to rep resent our class as one of the cheerleaders Our first party was the Freshman Junlor party I was a success Our candldates for kmg and queen of May Day were Patsy Mazzy and Jun Meese Soon after our freshman year came to an end we all su.mmer VHCHIIOIL On September 6 1955 we gathered ln Room 204 to contlnue our Joumey only thxs tlme as Sophomores Thls year we found Mr CPete7 Hllllard at the wheel of our hot rod With a burst of sparks and a loud roar of duals we took off wlth 37 aboard We elected class ofhcers as follows Presxdent Tom Wanosxk Vxce Presldent- Don Patterson Secretary Patsy Mazzy Treasurer Bonn1e Hobart and Class Representatlve Jun Meese Betty Lenarz relgned as Queen attendant this year and Nancy Westhafer was chosen for a mayorette Agam we had a three month s summer vacatlon then roared back to Room 201 to begln our Jumor year We boarded wxth 34 and elected class OHICGFS They were Pre ldent-Jun Meese V1ce Presldent Tom Wanosxk Secretary Patsy Mazzy Trea urer JoAnn Penxck and Class Representatlve George Yoder The class was proud of Russ Hobart when he was one of the first five on the basketball team that went to state Bonnle Hobart repre ented our class as cheer leader This was the year we were to make money We had bake sales sold candy sold refreshments at ball games and magazines were sold and Chr1stmas cards We put on the class play Jumor Mlss wlth Mrs Bowen dlrectmg We had the honor of attendmg the annual Jumor Freshman party and enyoyed xt very much Then our long awaxted class rings came and we were very happy wxth them We chose Etta Reymond as Football Queen attendant thls year Then to fimsh off the year we gave the Jumor Semor Prom We used a Rock :Sz Roll theme and the gym was transformed llke maglc and everyone enyoyed the dance After three months vacatlon we then retumed agaln ln 1957 reallzmg that thxs would be the last tune we would roar away ln our hot rod Our rlde was almost over Wlth 29 of us we took off wxth a bang by electxng ofhcers as follows Pre 1dert Don Patter son VICE Presldent Patsy Mazzy Secretary Bonnle Hobart Treasurer Louxse Elchel and Class Repre sentatwe-Jlm Meese We started out by gettmg our Semor p1ctures taken and then we were rushed by electmg commencement announcements name card gettmg the annual to gether planmng for the Senxor trlp sellmg magazmes whxrl for a few weeks But then we got used to the xdea of bexng semors At the last football game of the season the semor band members were honored durmg the halftune cer emomes The gxrls-Sally Trachsel Louxse Ezchel Martha Sours Gaye Tollotx Nancy Westhafer and Etta Reymond were presented mums and Donnle Beans the only boy was presented with a pen and pencll set Patsy Mazzy the senxor football cheer leader was al o presented wxth a mum The hlgh school selected Etta Reymond as the Home commg Queen and she was crowned at the Tusky Valley Mldvale game October 18 Bonnle Hobart was Senlor Attendant We sponsored the dance after the game and nt was a huge success We are now lookmg forward to the Senior Trlp m May when our destmatlon graduatmn wxll be reached When we leave Mxdvale Hugh School and go out mto the world on our ovsm many happy mem ones of good tunes and good frlends wlll go wlth us No matter how far we may scatter or how dxfferent our hfe patterns may be, we wall all exepenence the same sentlmenta when we remember MHS Etta Reymond . ,, . . ,, .
