FRESHMAN CLASS HISTORY From the minute we landed our magic carpets in Room 201, everything was exciting. First of all we selected our clas officers. They are: President-Virginia Duplerg Vice- President-Barbara Jonesg Secretary-Virginia Hibbsg Treasurer-Doris Brannang Class Representative-Lillian Eberly. We also chose our Class Motto, Success Is Our Goalg the Bower, pink carnationg and gold and white as the class colors. After all the first week rush we finally settled down to business. Next 015 our full scflhedule we selected queen attendant, which I am sure everyone thought we m a e a wlse c o1ce. We selected Karen Smith to stand as attendant at the football homecoming this ear. . Y Most of the boys have gone out for Freshman football and are looking forward to the come ing basketball season. W Fr sh e e men hope we can do our part in this year and the following years as the many classes have done before us. Virginia I-Iibbs 36

FOOTBALL ron sv PREVIEW MIDVALE VS. TUSCARAWAS VALLEY September 6 The Midvale Blue Devils edged the Tusky Valley Tro- jans 6-0 as Lonnie Fulp swept right end and raced 40 yards into paydirt for the score. MIDVALE VS. BREWSTER September 13 In this contest the two teams played to a 0-0 tie in the first half. But Brewster had a little more gas in the second half than the Blue Devils and went on to win by a score of 21-0. MIDVALE VS. WEST LAFAYEITE September 20 This was Midvale's first conference game of the '57 season and it turned out to be a thrilling game all the way through up into the last seconds of play. And the game ended at a 12-12 tie. MIDVALE VS. DENNISON September 27 Going into this game the Midvale Blue Devils had a record of one loss, one tie and after the game was over we had two losses and one tie but it was a hard fought game all the way with Lonnie Fulp and Tom Kracker accounting for the 20 points of the Blue Devils. Andinthisgamelnnnielulpwasplcked player of the week. Score 39-20. MIDVALE VS. STRASBURG October 4' Playing our fourth game of the season and second Conference game of the year we traveled to Stras- burg to play host to the Tigers Home Coming which tumed out very well for them and bad for us because we lost by a score of 19-0. Dave Feister was picked as player of the week. MIDVALE VS. TUSKY October 11 In this contest there is not much I want to say because it was our worst game of the season. And after this game we had a record of 0-4-1. The player of the week was Tom Krocker. Score 32-19. 38 MIDVALE VS. TUSKY VALLEY October 18 After we lost to Tusky we decided that it was time we put a few games on the winning side, so it came on the 'night of Oct. 18, our Home Coming game with Tusky Valley. Lonnie Fulp had a good night scoring 4 T.D.'s and gaining 203 yards. Also Larry Hiller had a touchdown for the Blue Devils. Lonnie Fulp was picked player of the week. Score 32-13. MIDVALE VS. MALVERN October 24 After winning our game with Tusky Valley the fol- lowing Saturday we played host to Malvern on a cold snowy day. And in this game every player saw action after the Hrst quarter. Lonnie Fulp had another field day as did Tom Krocker, Bill Housel and Larry Hillir. Larry Reichman was picked as player of the wee . MIDVALE VS. MARLBORO November 2 After winning two straight we took a long ride to Marlboro to make it three in a row, but during the early part of the game they were playing like they wanted to win their first game so it went on at 0-0 until late in the fourth quarter when TomlKrocker scored on an end sweep. And then Larry Hiller scored to make it a 13-0 ball game. Player of the week was honored by Larry Hiller. MIDVALE VS. UHRICHSVILLE November 8' This being the last game of the season for both teams and the first that is in competition between the two schools on the gridiron. But it was a very good game in the first half of play' but after the second half started things began to change. Uhrichsville scored and was leading 14-0 at the end of the third quarter and went on to win the game by a score of 20-6. But we played with three injured players off the starting eleven. Player of the week was honored by Gary Carruthers. '
