SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1954, 54 students from Midvale, Roswell, and Goshen gathered at Midvale High School in Room 208. We all hopped in our ,shiny hot rod and began our journey as Freshmen, with Mr. Heskitt as our driver. After our take-off we chose blue and white as our class colors and a red Carnation as our class flower. Then we chose our motto, Our Goal is the Peak of Successg Let Us Climb. Class officers were elected as follows: President- Becky Robbg Vice President-Jim Meeseg Secretary- Bonnie Hobartg Treasurer-Martha Soursg and Class Representative-Don Patterson. Martha Sours and Gaye Tolloti were chosen as major- ettes and Bonnie Hobart reigned as Football Queen's attendant. Becky Robb was selected by the student body to rep- resent our class as one of the cheerleaders. Our first party was the Freshman-Junior party. It was a success. Our candidates for king and queen of May Day were Patsy Mazzy and Jim Meese. Soon after our freshman year came to an end, we all hopped out of our hot rod and spent three month's summer vacation. On September 6, 1955, we gathered in Room 204 to continue our journey, only this time as Sophomores. This year we found Mr. fPeteJ Hilliard at the wheel of our hot rod. With a burst of sparks and a loud roar of duals we took 06 with 37 aboard. We elected class officers as follows: President-Tom Wanosikg Vice President- Don Pattersong Secretary-Patsy Mazzyg Treasurer- Bonnie Hobartg and Class Representative-Jim Meese. Betty Lenarz reigned as Queen attendant this year and Nancy Westhafer was chosen for a majorette. Again we had a three month's summer vacation, then roared back to Room 201 to begin our Junior year. We boarded with 34 and elected class officers. They were: President-Jim Meeseg Vice President-Tom Wanosikg Secretary-Patsy Mazzyg Treasurer-JoAnn Penickg and Class Representative-George Yoder. The class was proud of Russ Hobart when he was one of the first five on the basketball team that went to state. Bonnie Hobart represented our class as cheer- leader. This was the year we were to make money. We had bake sales, sold candy, sold refreshments at ball gamesg and magazines were sold and Christmas cards. We put on the class play, Junior Miss with Mrs. Bowen directing. A We had the honor of attending the annual Junior- Freshman party and enjoyed it very much. Then our long awaited class rings came and we were very happy with them. We chose Etta Reymond as Football Queen attendant this year. Then to finish off the year we gave the Junior-Senior Prom. We used a Rock 8: Roll theme and the gym was transformed like magic and everyone enjoyed the dance. After three montis vacation we then returned again in 1957 realizing that this would be the last time we would roar away in our hot rod. Our ride was almost over. With 29 of us we took off with a bang by electing officers as follows: President--Don Patter- song Vice-President-Patsy Mazzy, Secretary-Bonnie Hobartg Treasurer-Louise Eichelg and Class Repre- sentative-Jim Meese. We started out by getting our Senior pictures taken and then we were rushed by selecting commencement annoimcements, name cards, getting the annual to- gether, planning 'for the Senior trip, selling magazines, and having a bake sale. We were pretty much in a whirl for a few weeks. But then we got used to the idea of being seniors. At the last football game of the season the senior band members were honored during the halftime cer- emonies. The girls-Sally Trachsel, Louise Eichel, Martha Sours, Gaye Tolloti, Nancy Westhafer, and Etta Reymond were presented mums and Donnie Beans, the only boy, was presented with a pen and pencil set. Patsy Mazzy, the senior football cheer- leader, was also presented with a mum. The high school selected Etta Reymond as the Home- coming Queen and she was crowned at the Tusky Valley-Midvale game October 18. Bonnie Hobart was Senior Attendant. We sponsored the dance after the game and it was a huge success. We are now looking forward to the Senior Trip in May, when our destination - graduation-will be reached. When we leave Midvale High School and go out into the world on our own, many happy mem- ories of good times and good friends will go with us. No matter how far we may scatter, or how different our life patterns may be, we will all exeperience the same sentiments when we remember M.I-I.S. Etta Reymond
