them Sxnce I have been wonderxng about them I thought I would take a vacatxon and see what they have been domg I bought my tlcket fOl New York yxhx h was to be my FIST. stop As I clxmbed mto the tr 1n I happened to get 1 glance at the engxneer nd to my surpr1se xt was no other than Jack Davxs Upon arrxvxng at New York I went up to talk to Jack fOl awhxle and I told hlm lf I hadnt known xt vtas he I would have been sure Ca ev Jones was the englneer I went to the Hotel New York to make FESQIVH txons for '1 few days Who should be the m nage1 ot the hct l but Karl Macky He sald that aftex gr duatxon he had come to New Yc1k and bouffht a small hotel but now hls was one of the largest 1n the world I was ass1gned to Room 2 0 and aftel everythxng was xn Older as I w s lcaxlng my room who hould I hump thought we saw a tamxlx ll face comlng towaxd us As she told us that Nellle Davxs and she were runmng the Goshen Beauty Salon on Flfth Avenue She t ld us to come 1n and she would glvc us a complete o we began looklng tor a good res taurant where we could eat Wc notxced a large ncon sxgn Fxogs Wonderful Foods We decxded we would eat xt thxs restaurant To our surprxse who should be the owner but Fr'xnkl1n FIOQ Bertollne We told the waltress we would l1ke to p ak to M1 Bextollne Wxthxn a tow mlnutes he c me fxrm h1s offxce and vue had a long chat H t ld us that Eugene Wolf was now head of all the A8zP st re xn the world He saxd that he got xll hs food frcrn these stores 1nd that Eugene was ke pxna these stores xn wonderful shape Fxfmk told the wxxtress to brlng us anythxng we wanted for xt was on the house H1s specxaltv was a French d1sh whxch name I forgot as soon as I left the 1estaur nt It was 1bout seven th11ty before we Hnlshed eat xnf so we decxded to spend the evenxng at a movxe my b1eakf st I glanced at the news oaper they sent me and I ww xt w s entxtled Greens Ch1onxclc Underneath xt 1n small black I tt rs I saw Helen Dxnger fexcuse me Greenj Assxstant Edxtor You probably have guessed xt by ow that Don Green xs Edxtor and by the way h y have enough chlldren to fill all other xmp rtent posxtxons The first thxng I notxced was x laxge artxcle NIlS1Cl l2lI'y Successful 1n Afrxca As I 1ead thc rtxcle I found xt was under the guxdance of Mr nd Mrs Dean Rankxn fthe lattel the former Max g ret Ev 1ettD that thxs had been uccessful The artxcle also told how they hive txckets as hxs hobby IVhen I lxlxed '1t San Francxsco I dxscove1ed they were ha11ng a Unlted Natxons m etxne and I found out Dale Malone was Amb ss1dor for the Unxted States I remember those debates we u ed to have xn Democracy Class I guess he must have gotten some of h1s experlence at that t1me As I was walkxng down the street I saw 1 fam1l1a1 face and as she got clo er I found xt to be Irene Hunter She told me she was owner and operatox cf a correspondence school I guess she must have gotten the xdea when she used to wrxte post c xds to WJER and had requests played fOl the cla s Sh asked
