Maryann Steed, Armelia Martin, and Vashti jefferson prepare dessert for Lunch, a welcomed break in the school day. lt is spent in many dif- ferent waysp such as, studying for fifth period's test or finishing last night's homework. Many students, however, desire to spend it eating, so the cafeteria prepares hot lunches daily-items like spaghetti, tacos, pizza, fried chicken, and fish. Besides literature, grammar and writing skills are important, too, because each stu- dent needs to be able to express his thoughts and ideas to others. Term papers and thesis papers are a major part of English. Thus the English De- partment prepares each student in the skills of communication.
