Scholas- Honor, and Leadership were the qualities upon which the awards were based . These are an annual presentation to two tic ability, Courtesy, Courage, members ofthe Senior Class . Blame Dinsmore and Laurel Merkle represented Midland High School at the annual sessions ofGirls' and Boys' State in June, i958 Laurel was also selected as the Haalcon CountyD.A.R. candidate. She was required to write an essay entitled What the Constitution Means to Me.
