Gone eternally will be the routine of school life. In our memories will remain the fun we had and the friends we made. The hope of the 1960 MIDDIES Staff is that, as you turn each page and the ANCHOR directs your glances, you will remember those moments we cherish and the echoes will be- gin anew. A MICHAEL WELCH DENNIS GREENE Mike Jack SENIOR ACHIEVE MENTS The 1960 Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow in our school is Wilma Cullison. She achieved the highest score in a fifty minute Written examination on home-making knowledge and attitudes taken by graduating senior girls. Wilma received an award pin, representing the slogan, Home is where the heart is , Judy Mears was chosen by the class and faculty to represent our school in the D.A. R. contest of Greene County. The test was based on cooperation, citizenship, and scholar- ship. Judy has earned this right to represent her class dur- ing the time she has been in high school. i Midland Senior Class History It won't be long until we are out of class, Since '56 time has swiftly passed. We thought it grand when we were through, But, now, to think of it makes us blue. Yes, now, we've all changed our tune, Because we're graduating very soon. When were were freshmen, it could be seen That we were no different from all the rest, Who had graduated and became the best. When we became sophomores, it seemed swell to know That only two more years, we had to go. When we became juniors, we soon began to doubt That it would really be so nice after we were out. Now, we are Seniors, looking back through the year, Remembering the proms, the ball games, And all the joys and tears. We would not trade these four years, for Anything that you could give, Since all their happy memories, we will so oft relive. Compliments of DR. SAM ROTMAN, Jasonville. CITIZEN'S NATIONAL BANK, Linton DR. H. G. ROTMAN, Jasonville DR. H. L. MOORE, Linton l Senior Twenty-eight years ago today, We were very, very, gay. We never worried about the date, And here we are in 88 . Donetta was the first to reach the moon, With the man in the moon she did spoon, Now they're married and have real class, Their whole house is made of glass. Virgil is living in Hollywood, He is getting along very good, Virgil is acting in a show, One of those ancients with Monroe. Now Sharon lives on a farm, Raising pickles as long as your arm, Beside this, she teaches school, Trying to educate young fools. Betty has a brand new home, Where all her little kiddies roam, She never lets her room get mussed, And you never see a speck of dust. Wilma Cullison is a secretary, She's working for Uncle Harry, His wife caught her on his knee, Sister, you had better flee. Dennis bought a little still, Now he makes moonshine on a hill, He's still looking for a girl, Who has pretty, long brown curls. Avery and Deanna are living high, Just like they were in the sky, They have twins, tuplets, and quins, With those ten, basketball they will win. I saw Karen a few days ago, She's a T. V. QUEEN you know, She has her own T. V. show, It's called GO MAN GO . Jim J. has become a southerner, He is now running for governor, They say he's sure to be elected, We hope he won't be rejected. 18 Prophecy Bill James is a famous composer, For him, life seems much rosier, He has been a bachelor for many years, Please, girls, don't cry those tears. H Jay K. will marry one of these days, When? No one can really say, He is quiet and so shy, But he'll find someone by and by. Paris and Judy live out West, There they are building their nest, Three thousand acres and maybe more, They'll have room for kids galore. Judy M. and Tom lives in another state Where the rent is at a very low rate, They love each other day and night, And they never, ever have a fight. June decided not to get married, She is now a retired secretary, Out in Florida she sits in the sun, And spends her time just having fun. Buddy M. is a famous singer, He is an old time swinger, You can see him at the show, Anytime you care to go. Rita is married and has a new home, They live just outside of Rome, They spend most of their time, Making up nursery rhymes. Joe R. is happy and has no regrets, He is Carol's handsome cadet, He's going to be a General some day, And maybe President, some people say Larry built a rocket ship, He's going to take a little trip, He met a man from the stars, Now he's making candy bars. Bill S. is married and lives in Rome, Says he's going to build a new home, Now he has ten cute little kids, And on them all are wee little bibs. Senior I hear Floyd Stone's invented a jet, Probably one of the best you can get, As soon as he's out of the Marines, He's going to make radar screens. Greg is married and has eight kids, When he gets mad he flips his lid, He has all the comforts of home, He'll never get a chance to roam. Judy S. is a girl with dreams, She thinks Johnny is an old sardine, She'd have married long before, But she's having fun galore. Sandy W. lives out West, She says Texans are the best, They can surely pass my tests, SO. Sister, YOU can have the rest. Mike has a trumpet and two drums, He lives alone, so he goes and comes, He has a very successful career, Playing for Lawrence Welk, I hear. Eleanor is an entertainer, She's a Dobie Gillis, MAYNARDH. Working hard to do her best, I guess, she'l1 never get any rest.. Bub and Sondra like to fight, All through the night, right? They always settle down the day, That Bub brings home all the pay. Faculty Mrs. Bedwell finally got her chance, To buy and own a peacock ranch, Now she sits back and relaxes, And all Charlie does is pay the taxes. Mr. Hatley moved to Mars, There he sits and studies the stars, One of these days he'll go somewhere, Looking for the future and find it there. Mr. Keller has moved away, Where he is, life is gay, There he discovered a diamond mine, Now he sits counting his dimes. Propherg Mr. May is as sleek as ever, In the last few years he's gotten clever, The Athletic fund is 100 short, And there goes May, right into court. Miss Mitchell is as sweet as ever, Now I'm sure she's getting clever, Remodeling the farm will take time, But it will be a palace sublime, Mrs. Warrick and Smith are still very gay They're still the same every day, Trying hard to achieve the best, Although they give the hardest tests. How Mr. Swaeby got all of his money, Is one thing that is really funny, They waited until his sight grew dim, And made a referee out of him. Mr. Vosloh is a good man, What he can't do, no one can, He's still the principal of our school, And makes us toe the golden rule. That's everything except for one, We hope you know it's all in fun, May all your fondest dreams come true, Says Judy, Paula, and Pat, Now we're all through.
