He was able to learn the strengths and weaknesses of his squad rapidly and put the team to work improving them- selves. he Eagles see - sawed with several teams, losing to them one game, and then winning the rematch. They capped the with a thrilling season double-overtime victory a- gainst North Linn, 67-64. In his initial year, Coach ngSQuson Smith directed the team to a not unrewarding record of ten wins and seven losses. Three squad lead- ers were named to all-con- ference teams: Dave Buch- holtz, first team, Danny Schau, second team: Ken Westphal, third team.
