“
V You light up my life like sunrise in the morning. You make me believe anything is possible. I didn't have a dream to my name. Darkness was miner it was such a shame. But you came to light up my life. You gave me faith, and hope, and love, and light. Each of us was made by God and some of us grew tall. Others stood out in the wind, their branches bent and fell. Those of us who walk in light must help the ones in darkness up. For that's what life is all about and love is all there is to life. Each of us was made by God, beautiful in his mind's eye. Those of us that turned out sound should look across our shoulders once and help the weak ones to their feet. It only takes an outstretched hand. — McKuen Everything that limits us we must put aside. We are free to go where we wish and to be what we are. You have the freedom to be yourself, your true self, here and now, and nothing can stand in your way. It is the law. the law that is. And he is your board and your fireside. For you come to him with your hunger, and you seek him for peace. When your friend speaks his mind you fear not the “nay in your own mind, nor do you withhold the ay.” And when he is silent your heart ceases not to listen to his heart; For without words, in friendship, all thoughts, all desires, all expectations are bom and shared, with joy that is unacclaimed. When you part from your friend, you grieve not; For that which you love most in him may be clearer in his absence, as the mountain to the climber is clearer from the plain. Jeffrey Baker 1956-1974 — Kahlil Gibran 85 My reflection is mirrored back to me as I look from this window; I cannot see the world from here. The photographs this year were taken by Art Cashmere of Varden Studios and Paul Bloser, Kevin Van Romer and Gil Day of the yearbook staff under the supervision of Mr. John Farnsworth. Mr. Robert Banfield was the advisor. The cover photograph was taken by Chuck Steffenhagen. Sports information was handled by Chet Gridley. We are deeply indebted to Terri Butler who has put hundreds of hours and lots of original ideas into the book. It would take more words than we have room for to tell you how hard she really worked to publish your book. Finally, we have received much valuable assistance from Mr. Jeffrey Parker of the Taylor Publishing Company. Jeff kept giving us the help and encouragement we needed to complete the book. We all hope you enjoy the efforts of the entire yearbook staff and especially those persons mentioned above. Mr. B and Terri 161 162 If a picture paints a thousand words then why can't I paint you. The words would never show the you I've come to know. 163 The time has come for closing books And long last looks must end. And as I leave I know I am leaving my best friend. A friend who has taught me right from wrong And weak from strong. That's a lot to learn. But what can I give you in return . . . 165 166 167 Y 'a | I 5x52 % ' y; ■zzzm lllpj i?
