As is true with any learning experience, first-hand Information seems most effective. In accordance with this belief, the faculty of the Midfield High Science Department strive to promote opportunities such that students may be exposed to a variety of scientifically-oriented learning experiences. Courses are presumably structured such that the student discovers concepts and relationships within and among several areas of scientific study. The Social Studies in secondary school are Alabama History. Civics, World History, American History, United States Government, and Economics, with Current Events incorporated with weekly newspapers and or magazine. These subjects are selected to help students understand man and his relationships with his environment and with other human beings. The hopes and expectations are that students will, as a result of their studies, become better individuals and more effective citizens or future lawyers, politicians, judges and teachers. An award is given to the most outstanding student in one of the above fields of knowledge. MR. DON HANNAH - Received B.S.
