Fewer remnants of the old are visible as the color blue and the spirit of the dragon dominates. We now think of ourselves as M.H.S. on Hunting Hill Avenue. A Step Closer We made of our schools one school; of ourselves one community. Recognition came from several quarters â state ranking in football and basketball, selection by Hart- ford's WFSB-TV Channel 3 for an in-depth study of high school life in the decade of the 1980's. We knew it â now the whole state knows it! âI touch the future â I teach.â â Christa McAuliffe The dedication of a brave woman whose memory, along with her six comrades, will remain for many years serves as a reminder to us all of the nobility of the profession, and of its importance. The Blue Dragons' 22-game win- ning streak, during which they had never lost under its new banner, was tested by a tough and ready Lyman Hall team from Wallingford, who overcame a Middletown kickoff re- turn to set up an early touchdown. Before the first period had ended, the Blue Dragons found themselves be- hind for the first time in two years, 22-6. Despite a second half comeback to pull within range, it just was not enough, as a last minute Lyman Hall interception and score put the game, the ranking, and the crown out of reach, 28-18.
