SOCCER HE powerful Middletown Soccer squad, favored in pre-season ratings, led the DUSO League in both points scored and fewest points allowed. Although Mr. Rodieks hooters scored sound victories over league- leading lfallsburgh and Ellenville, upset defeats by other teams spelled the end of any title hopes. Three Middie standouts, co-captains john Price and Tony Vignola and goalie Tom Clarke, were named to the all- DUSO squad. ASEBALL HE Middie baseball team, coached by Mr. Rodiek has high hopes for the 1998 season. A sound pitch- ing staff, headed by veteran righthanders Tom Clarke and Tom Slover. is the foundation of the Middies' success. The squad boasts a tine catcher in hard-hitting Dave Petrozak, who was injured last season. A nucleus of other returning lettermen, including third baseman Dick Lundgren. second baseman john Barber, and all- DUSO outfielder Dennis Ruppert, assures a profitable c ampaign. lffril wt: Tony Proia.
