80 Homecoming It was a special night that we will all remember. The Homecoming ceremony is the result of a week’s worth of dressing up and participating in pep rallies and the spirit days. Homecoming was a very special night for the Homecoming Queen, JoAnna Smith. JoAnna has been on the court in her freshmen, sophomore, and senior years, and Curt Manlove has been her escort for each of those years. At MHS, JoAnna has been involved in many athletic activities, such as volleyball, basketball, and softball. Unfortunately, there was no Homecoming Dance after the football game this year, but the ceremony and the game still provided a night for all to remember. Halloween is usually celebrated on the evening of October 31st, and it usually is celebrated by young children in costumes asking for tricks or treats. As some of those children get older, Halloween seems to fade away, but to the young at heart Halloween continues to be a scary and evil time, a time to dress up as their favorite animated character or whatever else they would like to be. But some older children also celebrate Halloween, at MHS during the day on October 31st. For those “older children” Halloween is also a time to find out who their friends and foes really” are. Some people dress to look like girls when they’re really guys, while some people dress to look like monsters when they’re really nice people. It makes you wonder, doesn’t it? 82 Middletown High School Cavalier Halloween Your friends get to see the real you.
