“A Night to Remember” Seniors promise to “Never Say Good- Bye. ” Although all proms are different in some ways, in many ways they are all the same. After the seemingly endless parental picture-taking, the couple officially starts the evening off with dinner at an elegant restaurant. For some couples it’s just the two of them, but others seem to need to get a few couples together for dinner, either to share the fun or to give each other the courage to survive the meal. Some couples would secretly prefer just to eat at McDonald’s or Pappy’s, either because they are just shy or because they don’t feel like going through the hassle, but most seniors feel that the big, elegant (not to mention expensive!) dinner is an important part of the evening. During the meal, the guys pray that they can pay the bill, and the girls pray that they don’t spill something on their new prom gowns. Then the couple heads to the fire hall for the long, memorable, romantic evening. They dance and talk all night There are pictures to be taken, and lots of laughing and socializing to be done while everyone checks out how the other couples are dressed. The night might even feel like there is a little magic in it. Then after the dance, most couples go to the beach or off somewhere else with their friends. All too soon, the magic will be gone, and another prom will be history. Your Future Awaits You Major decisions still need to be made. The class of nineteen hundred and eighty-eight has finally come to the end of its time at Middletown High School. Some members may decide to go on with their education in college -• some of them by means of scholarships, and some by working their way through - while others will move directly into full-time jobs. For all, though, their moment of graduation and the four years that they spent in this school will be a milestone in their lives. When things get rough in college or in everyday life, they will remember all the things that they once thought were rough in high school and which now seem so easy. If they made it through their teenage years they can make it through absolutely anything. We who remain at MHS hope that your life turns out to be as successful as you have always dreamed. We also hope that the members of your class will stay in touch and never forget their friends and fun times they shared. Good luck with all that you do, and do your best in everything that you set out to do. Congratulations, Class of 1988 may your lives be filled with special moments, but may the ones you have spent here always be precious in your hearts.
