With the leadership of Mrs. Kane as well as President Tim Andrews, the Student Council worked on many new and innovative ideas. In the past years Mrs. Woodruff spoke over the intercom during the morning announcements, but this year Tim Andrews did them. This worked out because the students seemed interested and knew what activities were going on around MHS. They also worked hard and organized the Blood Drive. This was definitely a time-consuming yet worthwhile cause. The senior members were Renee’ Brackin, Tim Andrews, Sharlyn Brenegan, Tom DelleDonne, Michelle Hughes. Leadership, Service... They work for the school. The National Honor Society is composed of high school students throughout the country. The members of the group are chosen on the basis of Leadership, Scholarship, Service, and Academic Standing. Among the activities of the MHS chapter were the annual auction, the Angel Tree, the Thanksgiving Day canned good drive, and general volunteer work. The proceeds from the activities were given to individuals who needed it. A new project for the year was the Angel Tree. The members of the Honor Society set out to collect money for Christmas for the children of the Smyrna Correctional Center’s inmates. First row. l.-r.,: Renee’ Brackin. Denise Fleming. Mary Pearl.
