The Team Weakens The season wasn’t quite a success. The 1987-88 boys’ varsity basketball team had a rather unsuccessful season. Although they practiced to improve their skills and knowledge of the game, they just didn’t seem to hang tough with the more competitive teams they played. They practiced many hours to improve, but the loss of many experienced players from last year’s team hurt them. They still showed the endurance that can make up a strong team, however. They have great potential and will be better when they get in the practice they need for the 1988-89 season. Flrat row. I.-»., Rob Kohr, Daryl Bryant, Allen Bryant. The Young Talent The team looks for ways to improve their skills. The boys’ junior varsity basketball team, considered to be the younger talent that will soon have their chance to make up the varsity team, put in just as much time as the varsity team did. They put in all of this time in the hope that they will someday have the necessary skills and endurance to hold a varsity position. They try harder so that when their time finally does come they will have the fundamentals and the experience theat they will need to be competitive against the varsity squads from other schools in the state. Will it all pay off? Only time will tell. Flr t row, l.-r., Marc Burris, Jermaine Backus, Mark Reed, Scott Beamer. Second row, l.-r., Eddie Thomas, Brian Ford, Coach Barker, Issac Henry, Allen Newsom 110 Middletown High School Cavalier
