about MHS Spirit? Football fever strikes at pep rallies! Every year there are two fall pep rallies, each centered around an important football game. The first pep rally was for the first home varsity game, and all the familiar things occurred. The football team was introduced, and the cheerleaders performed their cheers while the band played. It was all leading up to the usual cheer of “Two bits, four bits, six bits, a dollar, all for the Cavaliers stand up and holler! which this time was judged to be best done by the sophomores, who left with the Spirit Stick. However, the sophomores didn’t keep it long, because Homecoming soon arrived and the Spirit Stick was again up for grabs. This time the first round of cheers ended in a tie between the junior and senior classes. In the second round, the seniors won the cheer, and left with the Spirit Stick. Although only the sophomore and senior classes won the Spirit Stick this year, all of the classes showed their spirit through their participation during spirit week. 6

tyfi 0' about the Class of ’88? Working for June 6, their big day! The Class of ’88 has been through a lot of things together, such as all the fund raisers in which they took part, all the floats they did for homecoming, and especially the putting on of the Junior- Senior Prom. Despite all this, the most important thing was what they were preparing to go through on June 6, 1988: graduation. However, before they could graduate they had to do such things as get senior portraits taken, pass each class with at least a 70% and pass all the required state competencies. Many things have happened to the senior class over the last 12 years. They’ve gone from having two recesses a day in first grade to having two research papers a year due in twelfth grade; from show and tell in front of the class for fun to telling all you know about something in front of the class for a grade. However, throughout all of this the seniors have stuck together and have proved they’re a great class. We know when they leave MHS in June they will succeed in what they wish to achieve in life, and show that indeed there is life after MHS 8
