(Not Pictured) TIGER BAND The Tiger Marching Band, under the guidance of Mr. Charles Dean Brunjes, held high honor and respect everywhere they traveled. The season started in the summer of ’76, eight girls, two flag girls, two field commanders, and four twirlers participated in the Summer Youth Program in Murray, Kentucky. In August all Marching Band Members were required to come to Band Camp. Diligent work proved to be a success for the Marching Band Football games, two Christmas parades, Bolivar and Bartlett. October 9, the Tiger Marching Band performed at the West Tennessee Marching Festival in Jackson and October 23, at the Memphis State Marching Festival. The Cottom Carnival was the Marching Band’s last appearance of the season. These are the units of the Marching Band. The Field Commanders control, the twirlers add sparkle and the flag corps, color. On the field or off, the Tiger Band lends support and excitement to the football season. In regional competition on October 9 the band scored second division ratings of excellent for its performance, its inspiration and its auxiliary units.
