The Yellow Jackets got their first taste of defeat from the Lone Jack Mustangs who came to Middlesboro and gave the Jackets a beating of 55-43. Middlesboro went to Lynn Camp to gain their second conference victory. They tanned the Wildcats by a score of 46-2l. This was one of the best games as yet. After resting from the Christmas Holidays the Middlesboro Yellow Jackets journeyed over to Lone Jack. Even in defeat the Jackets played one of the best games thus far. They were defeated by the wee margin of 45-44. The Yellow Jacket five played host to the Pineville Mountain Lions. They gained their third conference game by piling up a score of 53-28. Seeking another C. V. C. win, the Yellow Jackets went to Williamsburg and did just that by defeating them by a score of 58-46. The Yellow Jackets journeyed to Corbin to get their worse defeat thus far. With the Corbin Redhounds second in the State the Mid- dlesboro five wound up on the short end of a 76-46 score. The Middlesboro Yellow Jackets made it five in a row for the Cumberland Valley Con- ference, They played host to the Evarts Wild- cats. Although the final score was 58-54, the Yellow Jackets held a larger margin through- out most of the game. The Fabulous Five of Middlesboro High School started the second half of the Cumber- land Valley Conference off with the Loyal ln- dians, It was a rugged game all the way, with the Yellow Jackets coming out with a well earned victory of 59-35.
