GIRLS' GLEE CLUB DIRECTOR-QMISS HUBBARD The thirty-six girls in the Glee Club came second in the District Music Contest. Their number was 'tJubilate by Kzerulf. The mixed chorus, singing Sourwood Mountain, also placed second. Hansel Minton sang the 'mezzo soprano solo and Jane Mars won second place in the alto solo. The girls' trio, Mildred Williams. Christine Harris, and Mary Harmon Wilson, also entered the contest. Virginia Cos- tanzo, Nancy Lee Chandler, Esther Stern, and Geneace Anderson composed the girls' half of the mixed octet, which came second. The mixed quartet-Dorothy Jean Hoe, Hansel Minton, Hansford Enix and Charles Farmer came in third in the contest. -33-
